Shaukat Tarin instigates Punjab to withdraw from IMF deal

According to details, an audio clip has surfaced in which former finance minister used to be allegedly giving instructions to provincial finance minister to derail International Monetary Fund deal.

In alleged audio, Shaukat Tarin stated that they want to back down from Rs750 billion commitments and inform the lender that the dedication Punjab made was once pre-floods and now the province “cannot honor it”.

The PTI leader informed the finance minister to draft a letter and send it to him for vetting so it should be sent to the federal government and later on to the IMF consultant in Pakistan.

At Tarin’s request, Leghari requested whether or not Pakistan would go through if Punjab withdraws from the deal.

“Well, frankly isn’t the state already struggling due to the fact of the way they are treating your chairman [Khan] and absolutely everyone else? IMF will truly ask them: the place will you get the money from now?” Tarin responded.

He similarly stated that Centre is sending PTI leadership to prison and submitting terrorism case. Tarin stated that this ought to no longer go on similarly and the party ought to now not bear being “mistreated” and no longer respond. “We can’t be blackmailed.
