Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Tuesday whilst lambasting former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Sharif brothers for being at the forefront of ruining the country stated that former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s relations with the establishment are getting better.

In his first interview after assuming workplace of the Punjab Chief Minister, he stated that the country was once heading towards becoming a welfare nation underneath the management of Imran Khan.

The Punjab chief minister stated that the change in the province will be visible, adding that the access to the Ehsaas program has been made convenient so that no one is inconvenienced and the economic help has additionally been accelerated from Rs1,000 to Rs1,500.

Regarding cabinet, Elahi stated that there used to be no disagreement and the provincial government will deliver. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), he stated is doing abnormal things, including that he is making things difficult.

The Punjab CM went on to say that he contacted the governor himself on the issue of oath taking and he did not talk to everyone except the governor.

Regarding PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari, Pervaiz Elahi stated that he has caused a lot of damage and he will never discuss to him. “I spent 22 years with the Sharifs however they didn’t let me deliver therfore, I left them,” he stated and added trusting them [Sharifs] is forbidden in my books, whereas, entering in an alliance with the PTI was my and Moonis Elahi’s decision.
