The PTI, demanded Sikandar Raja’s resignation, is scheduled to stage a protest outside the electoral watchdog’s office today . The PTI’s protest was called by the Imran khan in anticipation of the prohibited funding  verdict.

After the announcement of protest by PTI against the Election Commission of Pakistan, District administration of Islamabad on Thursday sealed the Red Zone and placed containers at the all entry points of the federal capital.

On Monday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had announced a protest, calling on his supporters to gather outside the ECP headquarters in Islamabad to demand Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Raja’s resignation.

Entry into the Red Zone is banned for protesters and all unconcerned people. Personnel of law enforcement agencies including anti-riot force, Rangers, FC and police have been deployed around the red zone.

Chairman Party said, only a parliamentary Members of the PTI would go to the ECP office and convey the message that party had lost confidence in the Electoral Body.

But we have no chances, as containers were reportedly set up blocking entry into the high-security Red Zone area, and citizens were directed to use Margalla Road in order to entery.

SSP (Operations) Islamabad said that no one would be allowed to enter Red Zone. He said that Two thousand officials from Islamabad police, Frontier Corps and Rangers had been deployed.

It comes after Islamabad Authorities denied the PTI’s request to stage a Protest against the ECP at nearby Nadra Chowk and has suggested F-9 park and H-9 ground as alternate venues.

During an exclusive interview with a private TV channel yesterday, Imran Khan alleged that

We will go to the Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan against the ECP as he has insulted us by calling us Foreign-Funded,” he said.

We will also protest peacefully in front of the Election Commission’s premises. We will not go to Red Zone, he clarified.

Yesterday Rana Salaullah Interior Minister claimed that the government had received information that the PTI was planning to create an “anarchic situation” outside the ECP, warning of stern action in case of any violence or attempt to cross the “red line”.

Rana Sanaullah also said that the demonstrators were free to protest at the nearby F-9 park or Parade Ground, where he assured them they would be fully facilitated.

He also said that the PTI can attack the election commission; however, they should remember that the Islamabad High Court has imposed restrictions on staging protests in the Red Zone.
